September
"Sprite, your birthday is coming up. What kind of party do you want to have?"
"A pink party!"
"That's it? No Princess?"
"A pink Princess party!"
"Okay.."
1 Hour Later
"You still want a pink Princess party?"
"No Princess. A pink party."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. With a castle!"
"But castles are usually with Princesses... Sprite? Sprite?"
October
"Sprite, I'm working on your pink party. Which friends did you want to invite?"
"I don't wanna pink party."
".... What? You don't want a pink party?"
"I wanna yellow party. Like Snow White."
".... So now you want a yellow Princess party."
"No, Mommy. A yellow Snow White party."
"Um... hmmm."
2 Hours Later
"Sprite, I'm sorry. I can't find anything for just Snow White."
"I don't want Snow White. I wanna pink party."
Oh, thank God.
November 11th
"Sprite, your pink party is on Saturday! Aren't you excited?"
"I don't WANNA pink party! I wanna blue Jasmine party!"
Can we conveniently forget to tell her about her birthday next year until we're on our way to the party?

I shall remind you not to mention Sprites bithday next year!
Have a great time this weekend though :)

I was going to say "avoid the yellow snow" party, but then you finished it by saying "...Snow White..." Whew.
Yes, you are conveniently allowed to forget next year :)

she is one opinionated almost three year old. i'm seeing some serious arguements over clothing choice in your future...

Be glad she is not a teenager yet!!
I am a procrastinator when it comes to organizing thing. Next year, just tell her that it will be a surprise party - she won't have anything to complain about.

Well let's hope the party goes off without a hitch!

Try to make sure the next one is a boy. Toss a few trucks, a lot of dirt, and something to hurt themselves with and you've got a great party.

LMAO @ Michele's comment, but it's true. Boys are a lot more low maintenance than girls when it comes to stuff like that.

it's a crazy life with girls. and it only gets better my dear. after about 2 more years, they will start sobbing about not knowing which color princess party they want, throwing themselves to the ground, and start planning for the next year CONSTANTLY.
i have no advice for you. i'm much too in the throws of it myself.

I'm sorry to say it doesn't get any easier as she gets older. I got lucky this year - instead of a party Princess Nagger is all about going to the dinosaur museum instead. Next year, however, she's already mentioned SEVERAL different party options she would like, changing her mind every few days. Here's hoping she decides in a timely manner, unlike her Halloween decision. ;)
I'm looking forward to seeing all the cool pics of Sprite's Princess Party - whatever color it turns out to be! ;)
My Spin is up:

Oh, I'm sure whatever color/princess party you wind up giving her will be a great success!

Make it a pink princess, Snow White, Jasmine Party. Oh you might as well throw in Belle and Sleeping Beauty. They all travel together anyways.
Posted by: Ellie Belen | November 12, 2009 at 08:54 AM
It's okay Sprite, I go back and forth about what color party I want all the time. Just go with the rainbow.

Posted by: Baba | November 12, 2009 at 10:26 AM
Darn, Ellie grabbed my idea!
One she sees all her friends, the presents, cake and decorations, it won't matter what color the party is! Can't wait to see pix!

Oh, that's funny! Yeah, forgetting to tell her about the birthday might be a good idea next year!
Posted by: Maureen | November 12, 2009 at 10:46 AM
Have fun! She'll have a great day, no matter what color the party is.
Posted by: Mary Anne | November 12, 2009 at 11:02 AM
I'm with Michelle and Jan. I didn't even think to ask LG. You don't think the cake and presents will be distracting enough? Maybe throw in a pretty party dress?

Posted by: Raven | November 12, 2009 at 01:19 PM

Posted by: Heather | November 12, 2009 at 01:35 PM
Oh yeah - gotta love the attention span of almost three year olds.
I'm sure she'll have a blast regards of the color/princess choosen.
