Okay, enough people have said they like the idea of everyone writing their own spin (Get it? Spin? Spin cycle?...And I'm done.) on a common theme. Again, a major thank you to Kirst from My Life for The World to See for testing it out with me.
Here's the rules:
1. Every Friday, I will host "The Spin Cycle" which will have a theme.
2. Everyone who wants to get involved then has a week to write a post based off that theme.
3. The next Friday, I will publish my post based on the theme and you must link your post in the comments. (My post will also contain the theme for the next week's post.)
4. As the day goes on, I'll add the links to the actual post with the name of the blog and the title of that post for easier linking to other blogs. (You all want those hits to count, right?)
My blog post will be up by 7AM, EST. (I typically publish the same time every day.) Once I see a comment with a link, I will add it to the main post.
You can use this to discover new blogs, learn new twists on something you always thought one way on, or just use it as an excuse to put off that in-box which seems to be listing to the left or the vacuuming you need to do now that Junior has discovered that talcum powder looks much nicer on your rugs than in the container.
I'm going to need as much participation as possible on both ends. If you think of any ideas for possible themes, email them to me at spriteskeeper[at]live[dot]com and we'll start playing.
There's always a butt: (Yes, I know how I spelled it.) (Ass no questions now.) (I can't explain now. I'm a little behind.) (Seriously? Butt jokes?) (Tushy!) (Someone take my laptop away. I can't stop!)
I will make my best effort (remember, I do work on Fridays from 8-5 EST) to visit all the linking blogs and read the posts. If I find anything offensive that I think will not be suitable for publishing (cursing is and should be okay, as long as it's not offensive), I will remove the link and the comment from "The Spin Cycle".
As long as we all play nice, we can keep this thing going.
Here's your first assignment: Write about work.
It can be about housework, work work, working it, anything you can think of about "work". Be as angsty or funny or serious as you want. One little note, however. Take a tip from those who have suffered for this in the past. If you are writing about office work, please omit your company's name, be vague or change the names of those who might be included in your post since we don't want you being fired for this.
It doesn't have to be too long or too short. It just has to be about work.
Are you ready? Are your cottons and linens separated? Detergent added?
Set your blogs for spin and we'll see you next Friday.

Great first topic. Get those keyboards moving!

I wrote about work back in June. Nothing has changed since then, so I hope you don't mind if I just link to that one. I would like to put a disclaimer on this as it might put you to sleep if you read it :)
