I am thankful.
When I found out I was pregnant with you, I was thankful that your daddy was with me to share the excitement.
When I felt you kick, I was thankful to be the first one you communicated with.
When you were born, I was thankful you were healthy.
When you started to sleep through the night, I was thankful to have my sanity back.
When you sat up on your own, I was thankful for your burgeoning motor skills.
When you began solid foods, I was thankful for no obvious food allergies.
When you started crawling, I was thankful to be there to catch it. (And you when you faltered.)
When you spoke your first word, I was thankful for your beautiful voice.
When you took your first steps, I was thankful that we had mostly babyproofed the house.
When you began associating words with objects, I was thankful that your daddy and I had the honors of being first.
When you threw your first (of many) tantrums, I was thankful for patience.
Now, I am thankful for every day with you and every day I have to look forward to.
I am thankful for you, Sprite.

You forgot to add: When you fart next to Daddy, I am thankful to be on the other side of the room.
